Why “Zeno Effect”?

Where does this name come from? 

Zeno of Elea was an ancient Greek philosopher, predating more famous names like Socrates and Aristotle. He’s most well known for a type of argument in which a focus on a specific logical detail results in a paradox that proves his point. Some of his famous paradoxes are the ideas that time is an illusion and doesn’t exist, or that physical movement is not possible, or that nothing at all can truly exist.

While the arguments themselves are absurd at a practical level, we love the idea that focusing on the simplest details has the power to change reality.

Yeah, it’s nerdy, and it may not be your thing. But it’s our thing: we’re word nerds, and you know you love us.
